Founder & Director
Registered Psychotherapist
I am an existential & holistic psychotherapist. I strive to uncover root issues and connect the dots between the deeper layers in order to bring greater clarity and discover meaning and purpose. The question is: Who are you now? Who were you before major life events occurred? Who are you becoming?
The therapeutic connection is the most powerful tool in your journey of self-discovery. Building that connection will help you feel safe yet willing to face yourself and hard truths.
My goal is to heighten self-awareness, strengthen resilience, and increase emotional intelligence through insight therapy, psychoanalysis, logic-reframing, and mindset shifts.
My favourite thing about being a therapist is the shared joy in discovering the ‘golden nuggets’ or ‘lightbulb moments’. I love working with couples, young people, professionals, the analytical, and the dreamers.
Prior to starting Ikarus Mind, I worked in various hospitals for 8 years with cancer & chronic illness patients. This experience was deeply life changing to be at the bedside of those who were suffering.
I was born and raised in Canada. I’ve always identified as an empath, introvert, and a bit of an old-soul. I value my spirituality, staying grounded in humility, and keeping a sense of humour. I absolutely love the diversity of people in my practice. Let’s build an authentic flow together.

B.ED, B.PHE (Univ. of Toronto), Masters of Counselling Psychology (candidate), Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
I am a trauma-informed, integrative psychotherapist who believes that every human-being is worthy of finding inner peace, and safety to thrive in life. I feel honoured to be a participant in other’s journeys of self-exploration, as we can work together to explore your past, your relationships, your nervous system, and your current experience of yourself and the world around you.
My goal is to ensure you feel seen and heard, while supporting you to discover your own truths and feel what you need to feel, to connect the dots. I particularly enjoy incorporating the exploration of your inner world, mindfulness, attachment theory and somatic therapy in my approach. My favourite part of being a therapist is how sacred I believe this is- to sit with others through their deepest feelings, pain and uncertainty to untangle the knots and find clarity.
I am Canadian born and raised, growing up in a very athletic family and being a competitive athlete. My background prior to therapy is in teaching, and I am also a yoga-instructor which has fuelled my passion for somatic therapy and body-work. In my spare time I enjoy exploring in nature, moving my body and writing & reading poetry.

Doreen Ding
B.S (Econ) (Univ. of Dalhousie), Masters of Counselling Psychology, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
I deeply respect the diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences that shape each individual’s narrative. Sometimes, we inherit an emotional legacy from our ancestors—a legacy of trauma stored in both body and mind. Yet, it is also a legacy of profound wisdom and resilience. My dedication lies in delving into your root causes, as together we unpack the baggage you carry and liberate burdens that are not truly yours.
My favourite thing about being a therapist is working with adolescents and adult individuals to gain new insights from old stories.
I primarily employ a psychodynamic framework, integrating a trauma-informed approach and utilizing techniques from ACT, DBT, and mindfulness.
In my past career, I was a business analyst working with a mental health startup. This experience exposed me to the positive impacts of mental health and led me to embark on a career change as a psychotherapist.
I hope to co-create a unique healing journey with each of my clients, where together, we embrace the unfolding of a unique therapeutic relationship and welcome the transformative power of new experiences.
Outside of therapy land, you might find me capturing moments through the lens of my camera, and venturing into the great outdoors to explore and rejuvenate.
